Washington insiders have long speculated that special counsel Robert Mueller and the federal Southern District of New York must have had some pretty powerful evidence against Michael Cohen for him to turn so harshly against his former employer, President Donald Trump.
Prior to this week, few Americans had heard Lynne Patton’s name, let alone who knew who she was. Her identity was made known during the Democrat-run circus on Capitol Hill earlier this week involving “testimony” by POTUS Donald Trump’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen, in which he lambasted the president as racist, bigoted, a tax cheat, and an all-around lousy person, according to The Gateway Pundit.
Ho-hum, nothing new there.
But what Patton, who is black and was hired years ago by the Trump family (she is now a ranking HUD official), knows about Cohen and his transformation into No. 1 Trump basher is more than intriguing, not that the “mainstream” media (MSM) will report it.
In a January Facebook post addressed, “Dear haters,” that didn’t get much attention at the time, Patton revealed that the reason why Cohen has turned so hard against the president: Mueller and his team threatened to put Cohen’s wife behind bars for 30 years, tying her to his crimes.
Many of you may already know that I considered Michael Cohen to be one of my very best friends. Countless people can confirm that we were virtually inseparable during my employment at Trump – and that he is, single-handedly – responsible for introducing me to the Trump family and effectively changing my entire life. I would be lying if I didn’t admit that my heart still breaks for him and for his family, with whom I had grown extremely close.
Continuing, Patton added that she “can personally confirm that the ONLY reason Michael Cohen ‘turned on’ the President of the United States is because Mueller threatened to throw his wife in jail for up to 30 years. Period.”
She explained that Cohen’s wife is the “co-guarantor” of a $20 million personal loan that Mueller and his team discovered that Michael secured in 2015 after falsely inflating the value of his tax medallions. The deal “effectively” made his wife “part & panel to the federal charge of ‘Making False Statements to a Financial Institution,’” a charge to which Michael Cohen pleaded guilty.
The disgraced former lawyer, then, took the heat for the charge so his wife would be spared.
Patton also wrote:
— Cohen told her he paid porn star, Stormy Daniels, using a home equity loan rather than simply taking the money from $5 million in cash he had in various accounts because he didn’t want his wife to see the deduction.
— Cohen told her he didn’t think the president would actually win his election, so he never imagined the “misappropriation of his home equity loan” would ever be discovered.
— Cohen also told her that the president “ceased all interest and communication in constructing Trump Tower Moscow in June 2016,” more than a month before being declared the GOP presidential nominee — which, of course, wasn’t illegal.
She also wrote that she regrets what happened to Cohen but that she stopped communicating with him “when it became known in May 2018 that he was defrauding various companies (from a Korean defense firm to a global pharmaceutical company) for millions of dollars by falsely claiming he could leverage his connection with the President to their favor.
“To me,” she added, “that was the moment I knew our character, principles & loyalty to one another had finally diverged.”
